As per usual, most of the specs were known long before the brand actually announced the device, but we now have the full specs list:

  • Kirin 970 with NPU for AI, GPU Turbo already installed
  • 6/8GB of RAM
  • 64/128GB of internal storage, expandable with microSD card, up to 256GB
  • 6.95” AMOLED display, with 2220×1080 pixels resolution, no notch
  • Fingerprint sensor at the back, facial recognition
  • One front and double back cameras
  • 5 000mAh battery, USB-C charger
  • No headphone jack/adapter supplied
  • EMUI 8.2
  • Usual connectivity options, Bluetooth 4.2
  • Available in 2 colours: phantom blue and midnight black
  • Starting at 350 euros (no VAT)

This is the first “smartphone” from Huawei/Honor having a 6.95” display (the Mediapad X1 and X2 had both 7” displays but were considered “phablets”) and a 5 000mAh battery (even if, again, the Mediapad X1 and X2 both had a 5 000mAh battery but were considered as “phablets” …). The device comes with GPU Turbo pre-installed, improving the user’s gaming experience.

The Note 10 will be available in various versions:

  • 6GB RAM/64GB Internal storage, around 350 euros (no VAT)
  • 6GB RAM/128GB Internal storage, around 400 euros (no VAT)
  • 8GB RAM/128GB Internal storage, around 450 euros (no VAT)

The company has showcased a new cooling method for its SoC, named “The Nine”. According to Honor, this “liquid” cooling system works similarly as the one found on PCs and can improve the cooling performance of the device by around 40%, decreasing by 10 °C the GPU temperature. In other words, just the usual cooling method other smartphone manufacturers use, and that Huawei/Honor have avoided until now, probably due to the increasing cost of copper heatsinks.

The Honor Note 10 was announced the 31st of July, and already available since the 1st of August in China. It is currently unknown whether the Honor Note 10 will be released in Europe but seeing how most of the devices of the company do end up coming to the European market, we can expect it will release here too sooner or later.
