With Huawei already having put the Mate Xs up for pre-order in China and Switzerland, the company is now looking at other European markets, such as Spain or Germany. In this case, Huawei Germany is asking 2 499.99€ for the device, contrary to in Spain where they are charging 2 599€. Surprisingly, the pre-order comes without any kind of gifts. According to the product listing, the Mate Xs will start shipping at the end of this month, on the 20th of March.

Specifications-wise, there’s not much to say, as the company is only selling one variant of this device. We find, once again, the 8” display when unfolded, which becomes a 6.6” display when folded. The phone is powered by Huawei’s current top mobile processor, the Kirin 990 5G, and comes with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Software-wise, we find EMUI10.0.1, which is, essentially, EMUI10 with some tweaks to adapt to the larger screen, including various multi-tasking features. The phone comes with two batteries which add-up to 4 500mAh, and can be charged with Huawei’s new 55W SuperCharge, going from 0 to 85% in 30 minutes, an increase of 15% compared to the regular 40W SuperCharge.

For the camera, this one is between a P30 and a P30 Pro, being a quad-camera set-up with a 40MP main sensor with an aperture of f/1.8, an ultra-wide-angle camera of 16MP with an aperture of f/2.2 and a telephoto camera of 8MP with an aperture of f/2.4. Finally, we have the fourth camera, being a ToF sensor, found on the P30 Pro.

Of course, there’s probably no need to mention this, but the device is compatible with 5G networks, thanks to the Kirin 990 5G including a 5G modem, HiSilicon’s Balong 5 000. Furthermore, inside the box, Huawei has included a bumper case to protect the frame of the phone. And, lastly, for those that might not have figured it out, the Mate Xs comes with Huawei Mobile Services pre-loaded, instead of Google Mobile Services.
