Last week, Theresa May, UK’s Prime Minister, came uninvited to the European Summit.

It came as no surprise that Theresa May ended up coming to the latest Euro Summit, celebrated in Brussels between the 18th and the 20th.
But, even though we knew she was going to come, the reaction from the public towards her appearance was extremely harsh. And it was justified.
After all, during the Euro Summits, the future of the Union is decided. And the UK decided to leave in 2019 with the Brexit, meaning that, after that, they won’t have a voice in the decisions made in the EU. Therefore, many people questioned May’s presence, wondering why she was still allowed to participate to these kind of events, adding up to the current debate of whether the EU should treat the UK properly or not.
Now, most European media and people saw through May’s ploy. The only reason she had come to the European Summit was to beg for a good deal, deal that the UK delegation is making difficult to obtain (we all know, and the UK aren’t hiding it, that they prefer “no deal to a bad deal”), deal that most Europeans are unhappy about.
And, ironically, most UK media (if you can call them like that, all their “newspapers” are low-quality tabloids filled with clickbait articles on non-important stuff) wrote headlines claiming May was forcing EU leaders to give the UK a “good deal”. After all, British people live in a different world, disconnected from reality.
These kind of events will keep happening all along the negotiations, and possibly even once the UK leaves the EU. We’ve seen more than one British person claiming that they wouldn’t be happy until the EU disappeared, so we know we’ll hear about them sometime in the future. We could hope for Brits to open their eyes and realize how stupid half their arguments are, but we all know that won’t happen anytime soon.
In any case, we’ll be here covering this kind of bullshit from time to time.
