The last update the P20 Pro received before EMUI9.0 was Google’s November security patch, released by the company at the end of November 2018. Now, over a month later, Android 9/EMUI9.0 has finally arrived on the P20 Pro, a month later than on the Mate RS Porsche Design.
This new update brings Android’s latest version, Android 9 “Pie”, as well as Huawei’s EmotionUI, and include many new options from both Google and Huawei.
This patch changes the version from CLT-L29 188.8.131.52(C432) to CLT-L29 184.108.40.206(C432E5R1P9) and is 4.03GB in size.
As per usual before a major update, it is recommended to backup all the user data and make sure the device has enough battery left, as updating can take a while and is a quite energy-hungry process. Interrupting the update process can make this one to fail, resulting in the loss of user data or bricking the device.
