Huawei just released a second patch for the P20 Pro, having released an earlier patch this month, around two weeks ago, fixing an issue with the flash. This time, this patch integrates Google’s security patch for September, as well as VoLTE. VoLTE allows phoning with 4G LTE, instead of relying on the traditional voice networks.
For some reason, Huawei’s P20 Pro is falling behind the Mate RS Porsche Design in terms of updates, as the Mate RS just got Google’s security patch for October, while the P20 Pro just got the patch for September.
Coming back to the patch versions, this new patch changes the version from CLT-L29 8.1.0.156(C432patch03) to CLT-L29 8.1.0.157(C432) and is 277 MB in size.
The patch notes read as following:
- [Calling] Adds the VoLTE feature. Please consult your local network provider to find out if it is supported. Adds the VoWiFi feature. Please consult your local network provider to find out if it is supported.
- [Security] Integrates Google security patches released in Sep 2018 for improved system security. For more information on the security of Huawei app updates, please visit the official Huawei website at https://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/bulletin/2018/9/.
