On Huawei’s side, the Mate 10 Pro and P20 were confirmed to get Android 9.0, while on Honor’s side, the Honor 10 and Honor View 10 will be getting it. Now, the Chinese manufacturer has confirmed the update will be released on five more devices:

  • Mate 10
  • Mate 10 Porsche Design
  • Mate RS Porsche Design
  • P20 Pro
  • Honor Play

Supposedly, the regular P20 (not the Pro) will be getting EMUI9.0 at the beginning of September, right after IFA, which is curious, as one would expect the flagship, the P20 Pro, to get it first, and not after. In any case, with the P20 Pro now confirmed to receive the update, it’s just a matter of waiting.

For now, nine devices will be receiving the update. Some users are wondering whether older models, such as the Mate 9 or P10, will be getting EMUI9.0 or not. But as mentioned previously, it’s just a matter of waiting, although it wouldn’t be surprising if they did, with older models such as the P9 getting Android 8.0 Oreo recently (at least in China).

The upcoming Mate 20 (Pro) should be released with Android 9.0/EMUI9.0 out of the box.
