Mid-range smartphones now come with 4GB of RAM, with high-end models having 6GB of RAM. The new standard though, at the end of 2018, is 8GB of RAM. For what, you may ask? No clue. But hey, marketing? The bigger the numbers the better, right? In any case, if 8GB of RAM were not enough, here’s a smartphone with 10GB of RAM, more than half the notebooks out there have (which only come with 8GB of RAM)!

So, here’s a variant of Oppo’s Find X with 10GB of RAM. The specs of the regular Find X, announced a few months ago together with a luxury edition called the “Oppo Find X Automobili Lamborghini Edition” and costing 1 699€, are below:

  • AMOLED display, 6.42 inches, 93% screen-to-body ratio, 1080*2340 pixels
  • Android 8.1 Oreo, ColorOS 5.1
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, with Adreno 630
  • 256GB Internal Storage, supports microSD
  • 8/10GB RAM
  • Dual camera (16+20MP) with AI, selfie camera is 25MP, has 3D face recognition
  • 3730 mAh battery
  • 999€
  • Available in Western Europe in August

The new version with 10GB of RAM comes with 256GB of internal storage, just as the 8GB of RAM version, and is the first smartphone with this much RAM.

This model has yet to be officially announced, even if the registration process is complete. Availability and pricing are also unknown, with the 8GB+256GB version costing 999€ in Europe. This new 10GB version will probably not be released in Europe in any case, as it is common with these… weird? Exclusive? Chinese smartphones.
