Two institutions, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the European Banking Authority (EBA), have to be relocated somewhere else inside the European Union, now that the UK is leaving the EU in 2019. Both of these two institutions are located in London.
In order to relocate the institutions, cities in different member-states have to make an offer, explaining what they have to offer, such as housing, education, opportunities for partners of EU workers, connections with other European cities, etc.
Currently, 8 cities have made an offer European Banking Authority (EBA), and 19 have made an offer for the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
During the last European Summit (October 2017), EU members discussed the relocation. Next month, the 27 EU ministers will vote to decide where to relocate the 2 institutions, taking in account the different offers received.
