Huawei’s P30 Pro has just received a new update, including the last security patch of the year, being Google’s security patch for December 2019, as well as other fixes. Most of the fixes included are related to the call function of the smartphone, with the patch notes specifying some calls would have no sound under specific conditions, as well as an issue with the dropzone while gaming, which is essentially the area used by apps that are allowed to display over others, such as Facebook’s Messenger.
Concerning Google’s security patch, this one was released earlier than usual, as Huawei has a habit of being a month behind compared to the date displayed, although last month, together with the EMUI10 update, we had already received the patch for November.
This new update changes the version from VOG-L29 10.0.0.173(C431E19R2P5) to VOG-L29 10.0.0.178(C431E19R2P5) and is 714 MB in size.
If we now focus on the patch notes, these read as following:
- This update fixes issues where no sound would be available during calls and the screen would display erratically for incoming calls in certain situations.
- [Call] Fixes an issue where no sound would be available during calls in certain situations. Fixes an issue where the screen would display erratically when incoming calls arrived in certain situations.
- [Apps] Fixes an issue with the dropzone for incoming calls when playing games in landscape mode in certain situations.
- [Security] Integrates Android security patches released in December 2019 for improved system security. For more information on the security of Huawei EMUI system updates, please visit the official Huawei website: https://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/bulletin/2019/12/.
