Last month, in August, Huawei released GPU Turbo, as well as July’s and August’s security patch. August’s security patch was released in advance, and now we have September’s security patch too. At the beginning of this month, September, a small patch was released, fixing Wi-Fi issues. This patch was applied to the P20 Pro and the Nova 3i/P Smart+ too.
Supposedly, this patch should have come out earlier, but, according to some information we came across, the patch was taken down before being pushed.
In any case, this new patch changes the version from NEO-L29 8.1.0.152(C721patch01) to NEO-L29 8.1.0.156(C721) and is about 480 MB in size.
The patch notes read as following:
- [Security] Integrates Google security patches released in September 2018 for improved system security. For more information on the security of Huawei app updates, please visit the official Huawei website at https://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/bulletin/2018/9/.
