Huawei has just released a new rebrand in some European countries, the Huawei P Smart Pro.

With the year nearly finished, Huawei has decided to release one last rebrand (for now), being another model in the P Smart line-up: the Huawei P Smart Pro. The manufacturer still being unable to use Google’s Mobile services on new devices, this P Smart Pro is essentially a rebranded version of the European Honor 9X, which comes with the Kirin 710F instead of the Kirin 810 found on the Chinese variant. The P Smart Pro is also called the Huawei Y9s in other markets, such as the Middle East and Asia.
In terms of specifications, this “new” P Smart Pro doesn’t really reinvent the wheel, packing the usual components we’ve come to see Huawei use in most middle-range devices of this year. The display is 6.59” inches, with a 1080p resolution and a pop-up selfie camera of 16MP, similar to what was used on the P Smart Z (2019) at the beginning of this year.
For the fingerprint reader, Huawei moves this one from the back to the side, such as on the Nova 5T. In terms of storage and RAM, we find 6GB+128GB, an upgrade compared to previous models starting at 4GB+64GB, extensible with a microSD card up to 512GB. Battery-wise, the P Smart Pro packs a 4 000mAh battery with a Type-C charger, enough for over a day of regular use. As previously mentioned, the device is powered by the already old and overused Kirin 710F (which is essentially the same as the Kirin 710) and comes with Android 9 with EMUI9.1 on top out of the box.
The most “interesting” part remains the back camera, which, even if we say it is the most “interesting” feature of this device, we’ve seen it on other models, such as the P30 Lite. The main camera is 48MP, coupled with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a third 2MP camera dedicated to depth, for higher quality bokeh shots. As per usual, the cameras are assisted with Huawei’s MasterAI, for better pictures overall.
The P Smart Pro is already available for purchase in what appears to be Eastern Europe (Poland, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, etc) and the Nordic region for the price of 679 BGN (Bulgarian Lev), the equivalent of roughly 350€. In Poland, the device is sold for 1 399 PLN (Polish złoty), a bit less than 350€, although this is just likely down to the currency exchange. It is unknown whether the company plans on releasing the device in Western Europe.

As mentioned at the beginning of this article, this device does come with Google Mobile Services, meaning users have access to the Google Play Store and all the usual pre-loaded Google bloatware, such as Gmail, YouTube, Maps, Drive, Duo, Play Music, Play Movies, etc.
