Huawei’s latest refresh of their successful MateBook X Pro, the MateBook X Pro (2020), announced in February of this year, is now available for purchase in Italy. While with previous MateBooks, the manufacturer made various design changes, further polishing their best laptop, this year’s version mostly reuses last year’s design but comes with updated specifications, such as a 10th generation Intel core, instead of the 8th generation. However, other specifications remain unchanged, such as the dedicated graphics card, being a Nvidia GeForce MX250 in both cases.

The most striking visual change is the introduction of a new colour, “Emerald Green”, complementing the two other colours, “Space Grey” and “Mystic Silver”. Sadly, this colour is not yet available in Italy, with Huawei only selling the “Space Grey” version with an i7, 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. Pricing-wise, the manufacturer is charging 1999€, although there’s currently a 200€ discount, bringing the price down to 1799€.

For the rest of the specifications, the new MateBook X Pro has a 13.9” display with a resolution of 3000×2000 pixels and covering 100% of the sRGB gamut. The FullView display also has a screen-to-body ratio of 91%, with extremely thin bezels and the webcam hidden under a keyboard key, as usual. Another security measure is the fingerprint reader on the power button, making it easy to power up and unlock the laptop. The display is also tactile, allowing users to perform a wide range of operations, such as zooming in without using the trackpad/mouse, or opening and closing programs.

As mentioned earlier, the laptop comes with Intel’s i7-10510U, a mobile CPU with four cores and 8 threads, and with a base frequency of 1.80GHz and a max turbo frequency of up to 4.90GHz. GPU-wise, nothing has changed, with the same Nvidia GeForce MX250, as well as 16GB of LPDDR3 2133MHz RAM and a 1TB SSD.

Battery-wise, the manufacturer claims the 56Wh battery is enough for 13 hours of video playback, 11 hours of internet browsing or 15 hours of work, which should cover the needs of most users. This one can be charged with the included 65W charger, which, in just 30 minutes, can recharge enough for 6 hours of use.

Software-wise, the usual Huawei Share features are present, such as multi-screen collaboration, which allows users to share the screen of their smartphone on the laptop, and interact with this one, such as dragging and dropping files. Those interested can buy the MateBook X Pro (2020) in Italy through Huawei’s official online store.
