Only announced in February of this year for the global market, the MatePad Pro is now slowly coming out in various European countries. Following its launch in the UK and in Spain, the tablet is now available for purchase in Italy, with the same promotion we’ve seen in the two other markets.

The version available right now in Italy is the Wi-Fi version with the regular Kirin 990, in Midnight Grey, with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The rest of the specifications remain the same, being a 10.8” LCD display with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, a battery of 7250mAh supporting Huawei’s 40W wired SuperCharge and 15W wireless charging, a rear camera of 13MP and a punch-hole front camera of 8MP. This being a tablet and likely used for media consumption, it comes with 4 speakers with Huawei Histen 6.0 3D stereo, tuned by Harman Kardon.

Software-wise, the tablet comes with Android 10 and EMUI10.0.1 out of the box, with this new version of EMUI having various optimizations to make full use of the large screen, such as APP multiplier, multi-window mode, multi-screen collaboration or desktop mode.

Just as in Spain and the UK, Huawei is giving the M-Pencil and the Bluetooth keyboard for free, with the only condition being purchasing the tablet between today, the 4th, and the 31st of May 2020, with these two products costing 229.80€ separately. The tablet itself retails for 549.90€ in the only version sold, which we’ve already mentioned earlier. With the M-Pencil, supporting 4096 pressure levels, tilt shading, palm rejection and even wireless charging, users can draw on the tablet, and with the keyboard, users can work more easily on documents or taking notes, boosting productivity.

The MatePad Pro comes without Google Mobile Services or Google Play Store, instead relying on Huawei Mobile Services and AppGallery, with Huawei’s app store already having some key applications such as Microsoft Office, which includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

There is currently no information on when the MatePad Pro 5G will be coming out, or in which markets, although we already know it will cost 799€ and 949€, depending on the version.
