Barely a week ago, our Huawei Mate Xs received a new update, which included the security patches released in September of this year. Now, we have just received a new update, this time being a minor patch optimising system compatibility with certain third-party applications. As we’ve been able to see in the past with similar-sized patches, these usually fix specific compatibility issues, such as when the Mate Xs was initially released and Twitter and other common Western applications didn’t work properly on Huawei’s new split-screen mode.

This update being relatively minor, the system version doesn’t change, remaining on TAH-N29m 10.1.0.166(C432E4R2P1), albeit with the mention of “System parameters”. This patch is only 8.87 kB in size.

The patch notes read as following:

  • This update modifies certain system parameters to deliver improved performance.
    • [Apps] Optimises system compatibility with certain third-party apps.
