Two months ago, at the beginning of August 2020, we received the security patch for July 2020 on our Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design. Since then, the device hasn’t received any other updates, until this one. Sadly, this update does not include any new security patches, with the security patch level staying at 1st of July 2020. Instead, the patch notes claim this surprisingly large update, at 571 MB, improves system stability in certain scenarios.
If we check in the security parameters of the device, we can see Google claims the same, until we press on “Google Play system update”, with Google offering an 8.7kB security patch. However, once installed, there are still no regular security updates available from Huawei.
This new update changes the version from NEO-L29 10.0.0.165(C721E8R1P2) to NEO-L29 10.0.0.176(C721E10R1P2) and is, as previously mentioned, 571 MB in size.
The patch notes read as following:
- [System] Improves system stability in certain scenarios.
