Released in early 2018, the Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite has become completely obsolete, with its old Kirin 659 barely able to keep up with the times. However, while it might be unable to cope with newer games or be used for heavy workloads, it still remains a great product to read the news, browse the net or watch videos, thanks to its 10” display and a large, 7 500mAh battery. Another surprising feature of this tablet is its relatively long software support, with Huawei still updating it, nearly three years after its release, with other devices having been released at the same time barely receiving any support anymore. This month is no different from the previous ones, with the device receiving the security patch for August 2020. As per usual, this patch includes no other changes to the system.
This new update changes the version from BAH2-L09 8.0.0.298(OCEC431) to BAH2-L09 8.0.0.322(OCEC431) and is 268 MB in size.
The patch notes read as following:
- [Security] Integrates Android security patches released in August 2020 for improved system security. For more information on the security of Huawei EMUI system updates, please visit the official Huawei website: https://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/bulletin/2020/8/.
