Our Huawei Mate Xs has just received a new update, including the security patches released in May 2022, improving the overall system security. This update doesn’t include any other changes.

Curiously, the patch notes for this update don’t include a link to Huawei’s website, providing more information on the update itself, yet, if we type the address on a browser (https://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/bulletin/2022/5/) and specify May (5 at the end of the address), a dedicated page is still shown. It is unclear whether this change in the patch notes is a simple mistake or a permanent change.

This new update changes the version from TAH-N29m 12.0.0.228(C432E4R2P4) to TAH-N29m 12.0.0.246(C432E4R2P4) and is 364 MB in size.

The patch notes read as following:

  • [Security] Integrates security patches released in May 2022 for improved system security.
