Huawei’s P Smart+ (2018), released in the summer of 2018 and originally named Nova 3i, has just received a new update, bringing the security patch for May 2020. Many have asked whether the P Smart+ (2018) will be receiving EMUI10, with the manufacturer not having confirmed anything related to this matter. However, it would appear Huawei is uninterested in bringing said update to this specific model, even if it shares most of the same hardware as another model that has received EMUI10, the Mate 20 Lite, which also has a Kirin 710, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Coming back to this new update, this patch changes the version from INE-LX1 220.127.116.113(C432E1R1P1) to INE-LX1 18.104.22.1687(C432E1R1P1) and is 120 MB in size.
The patch notes read as following:
- [Security] Integrates Android security patches released in May 2020 for improved system security. For more information on the security of Huawei EMUI system updates, please visit the official Huawei website: https://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/bulletin/2020/5/.
