This patch for the P20 Pro changes the version from CLT-L29 8.1.0.128(C432) to CLT-L29 8.1.0.131(C432) and is close to 600 MB in size.

Our P20 Pro received this month’s update the 19th, one or two days earlier than the past 2 months. It is worth noting that our Mate RS Porsche Design received June’s security patch 10 days ago, and one of our colleagues mentioned he got the update for the P20 Pro around a week ago. This could be a sign Huawei is working to speed up security patches and release them as soon as Google publishes them.

June’s update added May’s security patch as well as Google’s Smart Lock. This month’s update improves the camera slow-motion mode, adding AI action detection and automatic snapshot features, optimises the UI display of Camera and Tips, and as previously mentioned, adds Google’s June security patch.

The patch notes read as following:

  • [Camera] Adds the AI action detection and automatic snapshot features to Camera in slow-mo mode at 960 fps (32x slow motion).
  • [Display] Optimises the UI display of Camera and Tips.
  • [Security] Integrates Google security patches released in Jun 2018 for improved system security.
