Seeing that the Catalonian president keeps insisting on the independentist plan and that he recognized not having voted the independence, the Spanish Government has decided to start implementing article 155 of the Constitution.

This Saturday, an extraordinary minister Council will decide how to implement article 155. The PSOE has expressed its wish to limit the implementation to the strict minimum, in order to avoid great disruptions of public services in Catalonia, as well as negatively impacting the daily life of the Catalonian people.

But not all Spanish parties agree with the implementation of article 155. Pablo Iglesias, leader of Podemos, raised his concern, saying that in the current situation, this would be “adding more fuel to the fire”.
